Yesterday, the 3rd of September, was Australian National Flag Day, celebrating the launch of Australia’s flag on 3Sep1901. On 1Jan1901 Australia became an independent nation, independent of Britain without a shot being fired. On 9Sep1901 our first Federal parliament met at the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne.
