This is what the Sovereign Lord says, “See I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.” (Isaiah 28:16)

For he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the dead pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you make the Most High your dwelling, then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:3-11)

It does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you may find favour and good success in the sight of God and man.

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance ( and for this we labor and strive ), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and specially of those who believe.

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

1 Timothy 4:9-10, Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 147:11
